Long Winter Days...
thats what it is...a longing for some sunshine and vitamin D. By this time of year I think we are all fed up with the cold and wet and even tiring of the snow showers...
this is the season when hot baths and long hot showers are definitely on the menu!
Kezia has recently taken an aversion to bathing and Daddy and mummy have to chase her and coax her into the bath these days! I thought this only happened with teenage boys but obviously not.
The girls are growing up so fast and added to that they are constantly reminding me of the need to display the fruit of the Spirit in my life.Isn't it amazing how God uses our children to speak to us?
I guess one of the prevailing thoughts over the past months has been this...
Gal 5:23"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law"
As I speak the girls are fighting, they are just at that age - and I find everyday that more grace is needed to be balanced in all things and ultimately to be growing in the fruit of the Spirit - and we need all of them!!
So today I shall remind myself that on these long winter days when the four walls are closing in - there is one goal...to be filled with the Spirit and to be more like Christ. Note - the first in the list is love...isn't this the greatest gift we can give our children?
